Hi lovely, I just wanted to drop you a line and say thank you for Saturday. You did an absolutely amazing job with us all, and we had lots and lots of comments on how beautiful everyone was You were such a welcome calming influence while we were getting ready – I had a brilliant time. I hope you had a good drive back to London and enjoyed the party Saturday night! I’ll send you some photo’s over once Oxana works her way through them Take care!!! H x
When Helen, one of my Brides sent me an email with a whopping 42 pictures from her and her beau Mark’s wedding day I couldn’t NOT show them off! Helen got in touch as she wanted to look beautiful, of course (!) but natural. She hated the idea of being completely masked in makeup and doused in hairspray. Unfortunately the wind of coastal Brighton put paid to the latter but we made the most of her natural beauty.
Because of Helen’s colouring and slight ginger tinge, I was desperate to try a bright lip. She favoured pink over red but came to the conclusion it just wasn’t her and didn’t go with her stunning strapless gown from Heart Aflutter Bridal. I respectfully disagreed (!) but we both picked a gorgeous nude for her to wear and love for months to come!
Thanks Oxana for this lovely photo of myself! We did nothing but laugh that morning over Harry Potter theatre expos and music. Helen also wanted her Bridesmaids Hair and Make Up doing as well as that of her gorgeous Mum and her Man of Honour, Ashley.
We started with a side plait for Samantha going over a textured low bun at the nape of her neck. We left out some wispies to keep it soft. She was also keen to achieve a radiant complexion without completely covering her freckles.
Leanne wanted a plait crown going right around her head, encircling LOTS of beehive volume. A fellow lover of BIG hair! She also wanted a super sculpted cut crease smokey eye. We dialled it down a notch 1: for real life’s sake and 2: to keep with the lower key theme.
This picture is why I LOVE hot rollers and Mark Hill’s volume blow dry spray! Check out how massive Helen’s hair is!
A delicate plait, weaves and twists and finished with freshwater pearls. I literally trebled Helen’s hair in size. She came to me with a short fine bob during her trial. She managed to get it to shoulder length, with the help of volume powders and aforementioned rollers we achieved this.
I used a warm pale gold, dusky pink and ivory shimmer pigments for Helen’s eye. Whilst she didn’t want to look like she was wearing make up I was keen to use shimmers as they reflect the light and literally help you glow. If you use them in the right way they lift a look beautifully. We added lots of mascara and a few cluster lashes for volume and depth.
A quick blow dry refresh for Helen’s Mum and a few subtle enhances left her ready to rock. We added bronzer, an organic coconut based highlighter and rich eye shadows around the lashes for extra oomph.
Ashley wanted to look his absolute most handsome for his bestie, we moisturised with Healgel, covered any imperfections with Dermablend and set with powder and spray as he was of an oilier complexion. We added bronzer and contoured slightly too! One hot Man of Honour.
As Helen’s skin was of a drier and more dehydrated type, we used a setting spray instead of powder to ensure her look lasted well into the night.
Doesn’t she look like a Botticelli!? I love the way Oxana has captured our client.
