Kylie was the calm, down-to-earth, fabulously talented professional you want and need on the morning of your wedding! Right from the start, she was fantastic – reassuring, encouraging and she really does her research…creating a mood board so that you just know everything is going to be wonderful. Not only that, she worked her magic on my Mum (who is not usually in favour of having her make up or hair done!) so that she looked absolutely beautiful but still completely true to herself; she just shone! On the day, Kylie put us all at ease and I loved every exciting moment of our transformations. I have no hesitation in recommending Kylie – she ensured the day kicked off in style…our make up and hair looked amazing the whole day!
There wasn’t anything about Kate’s wedding to Andy I didn’t love. Kate and I met via a recommendation from her photographer, my Australasian namesake Kylee Yee. We chatted over fizz whilst Kate told me about her fascinating work at Hampton Court Palace where she is part of a textile restoration team. After that we discussed ideas for her wedding dress and hair. Being a short haired lady like myself, we toyed with the idea of a quiff ( which ended up being a little too hardcore for a lady like Kate) BUT settled on flawless skin and a BRIGHT.RED.LIP.
Kate’s hair was something we put a lot of attention in to. I often find that some hair stylists/ hair dressers can tackle short/ cropped hair with a one size fits all approach. They don’t often give it the care and attention it deserves! With the help of Kate’s hairdresser, we tailored the look to her wonderful headpiece by Jennifer Levet, making sure she had volume and body, keeping things simple, elegant and modern.
I also had the joy of working with Kate’s Maid of Honour, Zoe with a full fresh face of make up and sexy moss green smoky eye to team up with her playsuit and blonde curls. Geraldine, Kate’s Mum wanted her very fine, sparse hair styled to suit her bespoke headpiece by Jennifer Levet. I dampened her curls and added thickeners whilst gently teasing them to frame her face. We also decided on a subtly bronzed complexion, lots of mascara to frame those incredible blue eyes and a pink lip for Oomph.
I also got to work on this gorgeous and very patient little lady, Nancy. Nancy was happy to have pig tail Heidi style braids, we fitted her herb and foliage crown and sprinkled some glitter on top for good sparkly flower girl measure. I’m not kidding…!
It was also my first time at The Pig near Bath, I’d been wanting to do a wedding there for quite some time and thanks to this beautiful couple I got to experience amazing service and a truly gorgeous venue. I will be back!
I mean, how exquisite!?
