Kylie, Thanks for doing such an incredible job on my hair and make-up yesterday. I felt a million dollars: super confident, glam and vintage but also natural, daytime and very recognisably myself: not an easy thing to achieve!! Both hair & make-up stayed perfect all day and I couldn’t be happier with how it looked. Your presence in the morning was calm, chilled and fun and you kept to the schedule beautifully so I didn’t have to think about anything. Mum was also thrilled with her make-up and she looked brilliant all day. I’ve been up since 5am excitedly looking at photos while my husband (!) sleeps. Sxxx
Sophie and I met up on a very rainy, very cold Spring day in super hip Ealing coffee shop Electric. She drank Green tea, I a coffee and we talked about what she wanted from a Bridal Make Up and Hair trial having had an unsuccessful one by another Artist. Sophie was very specific in that she wanted a semi- vintage- inspired look but wanted to keep things modern, bright and youthful with a fresh and light base.
During Sophie’s trial we toyed with a french side plait blended into Hollywood styled waves. A modern nod to a vintage look which also kept one side of her face exposed. Whilst she loved this she decided that actually she wanted a semi victory roll half up half down style with some small fresh flowers entwined.
A subtle contoured eye using Bobbi Brown eye shadows with a small flick ( Inglot and Surratt liners) and lashes added subtle drama to Sophie’s look, we finished with a pink nude lip and peach based blusher and bronzer to keep any red flushes at bay- Sophie didn’t want to be layered in foundation so with some clever colour correction we avoided that.
Sophie’s beautiful bridesmaids were Sophie’s eyes at the back of her head when deciding on where exactly to place the flowers!
Her gorgeous Mum- make up by me and Dad, and one of her wonderful maids.
Ahhh Sophie’s left foot! Sophie works as a Director and broke her foot on set just before her trial with me, it was a personal victory to be able to wear her lovely 1940’s inspired shoes for her day! She also, with the help of her lovely Dad walked down the aisle.
