Hannah had very unfortunately for her, but fortunately for me been underwhelmed and very let down by two previous trials with other Make Up Artists and Hair Stylists. She came to me not quite knowing what would work with her incredible fully sequinned Jesus Peiro Gown but after some trial experimentation we went with a full on Hollywood wave, glowy natural skin and a cut crease with cluster lashes.
We discussed her ideas over fizz at The Shard and decided we would try a flutter of lashes, glowing winter skin and try a couple of different hair styles as she was unsure as to whether to wear it up, down or somewhere in between. I simply knew it had to be down for her Ely Hall and Cathedral wedding. Luckily, Hannah put her complete trust in me and after a quick hair up experimentation we set her hair into tight rollers and rolled them out into a long marcel/ Hollywood red carpet wave. We were both completely hooked with how absolutely gorgeous she and everything else looked.
The morning of Hannah’s wedding was a calm and relaxing one spent at her Mum’s cottage eating scrambled eggs and haggis, drinking tea and opening presents from loved ones whilst I set her hair, gave her a thorough cleanse, face massage and applied eye masks. We finished her look and started her at Ely Hall where her festive wedding reception was to be held.
Hannah’s fully sequined dress and hair we agreed would steal the show; so I created a beautiful, naturally flawless skin and a cut crease eye makeup using soft neutral tones. I applied cluster lashes to open and extend Hannah’s gorgeous eyes. Hannah’s rockstar hottie of a Mumma ( a blonde Chrissie Hynde, right?! ) had a blow dry so I could re set her very fine waves, adding specific texture to her fringe using Aveda Curl Cream and thickening powder. A facial massage plumped and evenly hydrated her complexion and for make up I built a gorgeous smokey eye using golds and bronzes and finished with plenty of volumising black mascara. We also built Kate’s very very fine and sparse eyebrows up with various shadow and pencil textures. This is very common with Mums; as we mature, our hair does too and can become thinner. Kate’s a fan of bright lipstick so we amped the edgy glam and gave her a red lip too! Amazing.
