Helen got in touch with me, predominantly for some epic, modern and super cool hair styling for her wedding at Douai Abbey. She wanted a Carrie Bradshaw style freedom, body and movement to a defined bouncy curl. For makeup she was certain I could help her achieve a totally natural, flawless base with a subtle defined eye and a bright pink, vibrant lip.

Helen didn’t want her hair to look over done, nor did she want it to look weak and frizzy. Helen had had a hair trial at a hair dressers and wasn’t happy with what they did to her tired and frizzy hair. For Helen’s trial I blew dry her undone waves and curls straight and then re set into tighter more uniformed curls with tongs and Babyliss Hot Sticks. As there were more people to do on her wedding morning I asked she had her hair dried straight the afternoon before so that I could jump in with the second step on the wedding morning.

We kept everything else very minimal, a soft slick of liner smudged in with a cool brown eyeshadow to bring out those blue eyes, romantic blusher and a vibrant pink shade on the lips.
Helen requested a hair freshen up and tanned glow for her beautiful Mumma, she had already had eye lash extensions so I softened a flick around the eye, shaded and contoured and we were good to go. Helen’s flower girl/ bridesmaid wanted similar treatment to Helen so like Helen’s look we used Yogi wand tongs and Babyliss Hot Sticks for corkscrew curl lushness. I brushed both sets through with my fingers and Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine.w

I also don’t think I’ve ever had a bride with more luminous skin- the kind of skin that makes you take a sharp intake of breath.
