Jane’s gorgeous wedding day was at the beautiful Gate Street Barn. You may recognise the venue from Vanessa’s wedding day. Jane wanted a clear complexion with a hint of sheer glow, subtle defined eyes with some false eye lash clusters. Her hair was styled into a loose, undone chignon that we adorned with flowers.
Jane has deep set eyes, and her inspiration images were full of very heavy smokey eyes so we slightly changed the shape, colours and textures we used so that the look flattered and complimented her natural features, rather than completely taking over. She was very keen on greys and browns so we mixed those colours near her lashes and mixed in shimmery peach tones to really brighten and open her eyes.
Jane’s hair was also a thing of dedication! Jane has very fine hair and was very keen on having it up in the least constructed and contrived do possible. We experimented with up- do’s using gorgeous real hair extensions by Milk and Blush but she found they were too heavy and weighing her head down- totally understandable if you have fine hair and aren’t used to the drama of thicker denser locks. We ended up with a beautiful loose, textured chignon that had movement and worked with her head shape as she wore it and danced in it throughout the wedding. Something totally and utterly unfussy. We adorned it with flowers to complete her laid back, elegant look.
Jane’s beautiful niece had a wavy half up half down with a peachy blusher makeup and a soft natural eye makeup.
I gave Jane’s Mumma, Gill, the most wonderful blow dry too. Another wearer of fine hair. She basically wanted to look like The Queen and Helen Mirren. Job done! With volume sprays and powders we achieved her hair look perfectly. I gave her protecting SPF base, hid any redness with colour correcting concealers and emphasised her eyes and bronzed complexion. Jane’s Dad was speechless when he entered the room!
