Lizzie contacted me after seeing the brides on my website ‘ all look so beautiful’. How much of a compliment is that? Lizzie wanted a completely flawless complexion, even skin tone and texture for her wedding in Clapham, London.
Lizzie discussed the idea of having a half up half down. I very quickly dismissed this ( nicely ) for several reasons. That gorgeous hair needed to be up and away from her face. This incredibly confident, funny and sassy Bride needed showing off with an epic top bun adorned with flowers. Her veil, a cathedral length creation would’ve hidden far too much of her tattoos with her hair down and aged her and made her look all fuddy duddy. We did the trial and I saw radiance emanating from her face. She was so unbelievably happy with my idea and how we executed it. Lizzie’s complexion was treated with Heal Gel products, Murad moisturisers and Dermacolour and Dermablend coverage for a flawless finish.
Lizzie also thought she might want to rock a red lip. We tried an orangey red during the trial but we decided to go for a more berry/ vamp inspired tone as it was an Autumn wedding. She also got the giggles RIGHT before I started the red lip, can you tell?! It was everywhere, all over her teeth, the lines were wonky as she kept moving. She also kept looking at me really intensely as I was applying it… ! We used Hourglass, Barry M and Sleek for a punchy pout.
I absolutely adore this modern, cool, tattooed bride for trusting me implicitly with her makeup and hair look. She could easily have run a mile when I suggested this top bun with emphasis on the flowers but the epic cool rock goddess in her was all for trying it. I’m so glad she fell in love with it.
I also had the pleasure of making up her girls, Rosie and Katie. Rosie’s ginger locks were blow dried and re set into modern shaggy marcel shaped waves and her skin was kept peachy and clear with some camouflage makeup and foundation powders. Katie’s hair was blow dried to show off her side shave and whipped into a victory roll inspired bun. I gave her a coppery/ aubergine smokey eye and liner to compliment her darker complexion.
