Natasha booked me for her garden wedding in Northampton and wanted a chic updo and a classic, naturally radiant, no- makeup makeup bridal style.
During Natasha’s trial we experimented with various flick sizes, starting with a small flick then more vampy. We chose something in between to compliment her hooded eye shape. We then amped things up with some gorgeous individual cluster lashes. Her eyeshadow palette was kept fresh and peachy using Jouer Cosmetics Essential Matte and Shimmer Palette and Barry M Dazzle Dust, similar to her cheek palette. Shimmery, peachy, luminous. Perfect.
Natasha’s hair required a little more experimentation. We toyed with a few up dos; plaits, more volume, less volume and romantic structured waves. Natasha showed me some more Pinterest images she liked and mixed a couple of ideas together to come up with what you see here. During her second trial she bought that gorgeous antique pin with her to complete the look.
Natasha’s sister opted for a rich bronze- gold makeup palette to compliment her auburn hair and evening gown style dress. I set her hair into 25mm babyliss rollers and plenty of L’ Oreal Go Create Spray and Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer and finger brushed out the curls to create a voluminous, effortlessly elegant up do. Her highlights/ balayage showcased the texture perfectly.
Natasha’s Mum wanted her hair blow dried to keep her natural wave. I used IGK Hair Mistress Hydrating Balm, Aveda’s Curl Creme and a diffuser to scrunch the hair into it’s shape. I then back combed and finished with a Vo5’s Instand Volume Root Boost and a 12mm wand to create more texture and volume. I also gave her the most incredible midnight blue smokey eye with lots of black mascara.
The weather leading up to the day was really awful! Remember when it did nothing but rain for two weeks in June last year? Yeah, that. It was absolutely gorgeous the morning of Natasha’s day but as soon as they left the house the heavens opened. Great skin and hair prep using the best products, pins and finishers means her look lasted all day. Natasha’s hair was held with Japanese hair pins, Harmony hair spray and I instructed her to not touch it. Which she listened to. This ensured her bun and curl details stayed exactly as they were supposed to all day and well into the night.
