Swati contacted me for an elegant, modern makeup for her darker skin. She wanted her Indian complexion to be flattered by an Artist that knew their textures and tones, helping her skin to look completely glorious. I smoothed her gorgeous thick hair into a casual but glamorous wave.
During Swati’s trial we experimented with rich gold, rose and peach shimmers from Viseart and NYX Cosmetics and super fine glitter pigments from Barry M Cosmetics as her initial inspiration was very Asian inspired modern glamour. I also applied more eyeliner for a smokier look. For the day itself she decided she wanted a softer look overall, their wedding ceremony was before midday so we softened and in some areas removed the eyeliner, kept the shimmers low key and used a dark warm coral matte lip.
Swati’s hair was prepped with IGK Hair’s Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm and Living Proof 5in1 styling treatment. I smoothed the hair out with a little heat and popped in Babyliss Heated Rollers. Once in the rollers I sprayed L’Oreal Styling Spray and Silvikrin. They were then brushed and styled out with a smoothing paddle brush with some Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine and more IGK and Bristow Hair Spray to set.
Swati’s glorious skin was prepped with Exuviance Gentle Cleansing Cream, Clinisept Plus and moisturised with La Roche Posay’s Ciclaplast Gel. Her base was made up of Kryolan’s dermacolour in 3 shades, DFD to counteract sallow toned scars, DJ3 to counteract any blemish redness and D305 to conceal; and RCMA Foundation.
Swati’s gorgeous dress and hair and makeup plans kind of intertwined. She didn’t know whether she wanted her hair up or down or what how natural or glamorous a makeup look, as up until 2 weeks before the wedding she didn’t actually know what she was wearing. After lots of Whatsapping me photos back and forth on her choices, she chose this beauty by MaxMara, ordered it and had it altered. We could then finalise hair and makeup! Isn’t it PERFECT for her?
