Soft Bridal Makeup for Blue Eyes and Low Chignon with Flowers, Surrey; From her trial appointment India put her trust in me to create something gorgeous that would suit her perfectly; I gave her a soft tousled chignon that we added flowers to on the wedding day itself, and a soft bridal makeup for her blue eyes.
India’s wedding day took place on one of the hottest days of the year, the conservatory reached about 33′, outside was even hotter! I kept skincare for the bridal party simple with hyaluronic acid for hydration and Murad Mattifying SPF. I wanted to see how the girls’ makeup would handle the heat before applying any powder. I applied it right at the end before they walked out the door.
On bridal party hair duty ( there were 5 of them! ) was my wonderful colleague Zoe. She made the sure the girls had the prettiest half ups with flower adornments tailored to each ladies’ tastes and an amazing choice to two hair styles for Sarah, India’s Mum. Sarah initially wanted her hair down but as it was so hot it was making her feel less than sexy. So Zoe whipped it up and added some flowers so she was more comfortable.
The second hair style I gave India during her trial she loved, a low modern chignon/ knot using Babyliss heated rollers for lots of volume with Philip Kingsley heat protector and Aveda Curl Cream to set. I also used a volume powder for lots of root lift. We added flowers on the day.
India’s makeup look was all about the greys and taupes. She’s got the most sparkly blue eyes and I really wanted to bring the colour out, show them off. I blended slate grey along her lash line and blended out into a taupe with a little taupe shimmer over the top. I then blended a lot of it right down and added a pop of peach to her cheeks to tie everything together. For foundation I used Cover Fx as India has a little redness in her skin, a little goes a long way with Cover Fx’s custom cover drops so there’s no ‘ lots of foundation on my face’ feeling.
See how shiny the bridesmaids got? That’s why I save powder until last, then it can be applied minimally by pushing it onto the skin with a powder puff. That way it lasts much longer.
