My gorgeous, vivacious Taryn booked me to do her wedding hair and make up through her wedding planners Carmela Weddings. We Skyped and although initially booked a trial Taryn concluded that she was on such a tight schedule living in the Middle East she’d wing it on the day (!)
The control freak OCD- when- it- comes- to- work Artist in me took a few deep breaths and set about visually designing what Taryn wanted via Pinterest, Google and practising styles and sets on my hair styling mannequin. Taryn’s look was stunning and exactly what she wanted, but for me personally, it was a very important lesson on cementing why trials are so important. I wish I had set looser curls and brushed them out with a denser bristle. It’s would’ve made the look softer and more 50’s instead of 30’s. She was, however, totally delighted and felt like a GODDESS- which is the most important factor!
Soon after meeting I saw that Taryn had keratosis pilaris- otherwise affectionately known as chicken skin. I have it on my arms. We exfoliated and piled on the moisture ( especially needed post flight and during copious amounts of alcohol enjoyment (!) ) You can’t eradicate KP but you CAN help up moisture levels, exfoliate with an acid exfoliator and apply a silicon based HD primer. Which is what we did. The HD primer; I used Kryolan HD Micro Primer, evens skins texture and gives a wonderful base for foundation ( we used Bobbi Brown as Taryn’s skin was dehydrated ) and for tattoo concealer ( Derma blend, Derma colour and Amazing Cosmetics ) which is what we used to calm excess redness, get rid of lingering dark circles and any pimples.
In incredible Badgley Mischka I might add…
Our Mother of the Bride Elizabeth decided on a look she had always loved. A beehive French roll and eyeliner reminiscent of her partying days in the 60’s. My heard sang! Her very fine hair was given a volumous whip through with heat and styling product- Mark Hill and Vo5 thickening powder and I backcombed and shaped it into the most beautiful French roll. We added liner and plenty of mascara to flawless skin and a nudey pink lip. She was beyond thrilled and felt sultry and sexy!
Seriously, how pretty is this Bride?!
And funny… My clients are all sass and fun.
A beautiful front view of Elizabeth’s 60’s inspired make up and hair look.
I also had the pleasure of doing Taryn’s step- daughter’s hair and sparkle. We gave her a swishable high ponytail with bow detail. She absolutely loved it.
I mean… Come on!? <3
All the love for this cool ass couple. Many thanks to Laura at Babb Photo for sharing her lush lens work.
