Catherine wanted a subtle sixties inspired make up look to go with her beautiful Halfpenny Separates Wedding outfit. Like myself, Catherine has hooded eyes so we kept her eyes clean with light reflecting eye shadows, gave her a subtle sixties flick and popped some lashes on to really open her lids.
As a no- makeup makeup Bridal Specialist, I ensured Catherine and her Mum had any skin concerns covered- literally! As well as a glowy complexion. Catherine’s Mum, Helen had very rosy and reactive skin, she also found she perspired very easily, especially when nervous/ anxious. This is super common with Mother of the Brides. We started building her make up with a cooling and soothing cleanse and hydrate. I also gave her a neck massage to chill her out a little. For her base I used Kryolan’s HD Primer, and Kiehls’ BB Cream which colour corrects redness, hydrates and has an SPF built in. I gave her a cooling spritz with rose water and calmed any further redness with Amazing Cosmetics concealer, Bobbi Brown powder foundation.
During Catherine’s trial we experimented with a smokey eye. We decided it was just a bit much. Her hair was going to be worn down with a full length veil and we knew she would look just a little swamped.
Catherine’s beautiful Sister and Maid of Honour opted for smokey taupey silvers to go with her dress. Lots of sparkle and black mascara set off the colour of her eyes.
I also did Catherine’s adult Bridesmaid. I delicately lined her eyes, calmed redness in her face and used Cover Fx’s glow drops for cheek bone emphasis.
So much love. Soft pinks around the eyes bring a typical sixties look up to date in the most clean and modern way.
