On the actual wedding day, everything ran smoothly and I had nothing to worry about. I was a little quieter on the day (nerves) but Kylie understood and kept me relaxed. My bridal party loved her, and they’ve all mentioned how nice the ‘getting ready’ part of the wedding was. My hair stayed perfect throughout the day, even in 29oc heat, and was still curly in the morning. My make-up was lovely and, as someone who hates pictures of herself, I’m so happy with the photos and how I looked. You won’t regret having this lovely lady in your life.
Hannah got in touch with me last year for her gorgeous outdoor wedding on Raven’s Ait Island in Kingston. She needed pretty, boho hair and makeup for her and her 8 person bridal party!
During Hannah’s first trial we experimented with a rockstar style smokey eye with cool greys, sparkles and chocolatey black liner. As the colours in the rest of Hannah’s wedding were soft, country pastels we decided to tone it down. I lined her eye with taupes and blacks and shaded with neutral, ethereal, pearly shimmers. It lifted her whole look and tied in with the bronzed skin look she wanted and the sparkle in her dress.
Hannah’s hair also was quite reluctant to curl as we found out during her trial. On the day I ran lots of product through it, lots of initial heat, tonged and then heated through again with a hair dryer on diffuser setting. This I’ve found lately, is the key to getting a long lasting curl/ wave.
Hannah’s gorgeous Mum wanted something very simple to compliment her gorgeous floral party dress. I picked out the copper tones in her hair and upped her Gardener’s tan. She loves a bright lip so we gave her a maroony- pink for Summer Oomph.
Hannah’s beautiful maids also required hair and makeup help. Cassandra Rizzuto was on hand for hair requirements, creating 7 beautiful soft up dos on the bridesmaids and a mega blow dry for the Mother of the Bride. When I’m doing a big job like this I like to create a colour palette for the Bridesmaids, during Hannah’s trial she bought Liv, one of the Bridesmaids with her. We took what they all would like- shimmers, red lips and obviously beautiful skin, and combined that with their different complexions for a gorgeous, easy to wear, summer bridesmaid look.
When Hannah first got in touch with me, she was concerned that her skin wouldn’t look it’s absolute best as it was combination, problematic and oily. Luckily I had just been for an incredible facial and consultation at Mortar and Milk so recommended their services. They were just wonderful and treated Hannah like the total superstar she is. She positively glows ( in a matte way (!) ) in these photos.
