Olivia and I met in Searcy’s St Pancras and discussed our love of nutrition, champagne and sparkly bridesmaid dresses! Olivia was keen for her wedding hair and make up to be unfussy but elegant, most importantly to be ‘her’ but on a really darn good day! With an absolute stunner of a gown by Temperley London we set about creating her wedding day look.
Olivia wore an antique brooch that had been lovingly restored as a hair pin so we created an bohemian but structured hair style that would compliment the piece without feeling too ‘stiff’ or ‘weddingy’. I used plaits at the front to frame the face and knots and twists to lift the hair off the nape of the neck and create volume with Olivia’s fine locks. A halo of wispy and ethereal strands completed everything.
Olivia’s heavily pregnant bridesmaid was not an avid make up wearer and mentioned that on her wedding day she felt her look was too strong. I gave her a sheer coverage of Kiehl’s BB cream that counteracts redness brought on by pregnancy, champagne or otherwise (!) and built coverage in parts where she would get warm and flush pink. We used Uber Beige pot rouge by Bobbi Brown to calm any remaining pink tones whilst adding a hint of flattering colour to the cheeks. We put her hair up in a modern tousled bun adding height to compliment her blooming bump!
Olivia’s make up was kept fresh and light in her complexion. I used Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer on any lingering redness and amped up the sultry with a smoky eye using aubergine tones via Chantecaille and hints of gold via MAC Cosmetics to add warmth on a beautiful Autumn day.
It was also an absolute treat to work with Lucy Tanner. Having photographed Celebrity weddings and been featured in Vogue and Brides Magazine I couldn’t wait to feature Lucy’s images, the day was planned to perfection by Snapdragon Luxury Wedding Planners.
