Amanda and I met for a coffee at the Royal Academy of Arts cafe to discuss her wedding hair and make up look. She didn’t want anything particularly Bridal. She wanted a no- make up make up romantic look with the option of adding a red lip to compliment her stunning unusual bridal jewellery.
Amanda’s family heritage of Japanese- English descent was completely fascinating to me. It also educated me a lot about her inherited skin type- Oily combination prone to breakouts. We used mattifying but hydrating skincare by Healgel, really massaged into the face for optimal plumpness and stimulation, tea tree tonic water by Lush and eye masks- Amanda has a delightful toddler but we didn’t want to show late nights and early mornings under the eyes!
Amanda’s gorgeous crop has two lots of styling. Her usual hair dresser had trimmed, coloured and blow dried it that morning and I finished it off.
For Amanda’s skin we wanted a subtle glow. That’s what no- make up make up is truly all about. We wanted people to see her complexion, nothing masked with lots of cake foundation and concealer. I dotted exactly what was needed in the exact right place- Clarin’s BB creams mixed together and used sparingly, amazing cosmetics amazing concealer for under eyes for it’s supreme coverage and optimal hydration and bronzers. I set Amanda up with a facialist in London to truly get the most out of her desired look and I modified her skincare at home a little. This Bride was also a big fan of cleansing and moisturising properly. Music to my ears!
I also helped her Maid of Honour and bestie get ready. I whizzed through her lush bob with some heat, finished and styled and gave her a subtle smokey liner and bright red lip to go with her gorgeous black dress.
How stunning is this lady!
