A few weeks ago
via Natalie J Weddings I was invited to attend and exhibit at The Oyster Shed‘s very first wedding fair. Held at their bar/ restaurant on the river close to Monument and Cannon Street it promised to be a new and exciting evening where a small amount of wedding professionals could get together to show off their skills, practises and services to potential couples.
It was a totally chilled and relaxed evening, held on the entirety of their top floor event space. Champagne cocktails were free flowing courtesy of bar man Jeven and they served delicious canapés to showcase food options for prospective couples.
My gorgeous stand overlooking the river! Beautiful views of the Thames!
The Occasion Queens and their lovely stand. Nothing overly feminine or twee. Instead, modern, elegant and luxurious to reflect their bespoke on the day styling services.
I also had a lovely time chatting shoots and same sex couples’ celebrations with Eva Photography.
Absolutely beautiful spring blooms courtesy of Catherine Short Floral Design. Catherine was a sweetheart and gave us some blooms to take home with us after the fair. They’re now gracing my home and helping it smell delightful!
Clare Burgess at Frou Frou Days offers styling and party set up, project and event management.
These ladies at Peppermint Weddings! Their photography style is so full of character and they shoot total hotties! Annabel and Cait were so much fun and don’t take themselves too seriously. I hope to shoot some weddings with them this year.
And Oh MY GOSH! There’s a reason the slates are more than half empty. Hannah at Butter Beautiful London sure does know how to make a cake. These photos were taken about an hour into the fair and most samples had gone already! So full of flavour. The first chocolate and hazelnut wedding cake samples were absolute delicious. I’m such a sucker for anything chocolate and these satisfied the craving!
The second, coconut and passionfruit wedding cake samples were also delicious. Refreshing, zingy, totally not sickly. A lovely fruity alternative to caramels and chocolates.
And in my opinion, no cake is complete without gold leaf. Hannah told me she obviously, totally agrees!
I met Natalie at a wedding she kindly recommended me for a couple of years ago. I’d love to work with her more but she’s usually off gallivanting around Iceland or Vegas! She shoots beautiful, hip and cool folks for engagements and weddings.
The legendary Wedding Smashers! I had the joy of meeting Max, one third of The Wedding Smashers who are DJs that travel all over the world treating to people to great music vibes as opposed to terrible cheesy twaddle.
I also had the pleasure of meeting James of Sound Generation. As well as being musicians themselves, James and Sofia’s roster of talent for your wedding sound design include Jazz Artists, Pianists, DJ’s and live bands. If World Music is your thing they cater to that too!
It’s safe to say my evening at The Oyster Shed was pretty fabulous. Getting to meet new like minded people and catch up with folks I already knew was lovely. I can’t wait for next year’s event!
