Simona might truly be one of the sweetest and most elegant Brides I’ve ever met. We met for drinks at Chiltern Firehouse earlier this year to discuss her wedding plans which were to take place at the glorious Babington House. She wanted a full on glamorous, romantic, red carpet inspired wedding hair and makeup look to compliment her Atelier Pronovias gown.
During Simona’s first trial we experimented with a hair up and a matte smokey eye with hints of shimmer. Her gown was completely covered in crystals so we toyed with the idea of a loose chignon, a french roll and various other low updo ideas to keep it up and out of the way of the dress detail.
Simona decided she wasn’t convinced, whilst she loved the looks she had chosen in theory, they didn’t give her the wow factor she was after. We arranged a second trial, set her hair into elegant, Hollywood red carpet style waves and I added ALOT more sultry sparkle to those eyelids!
We also decided to change up her complexion products- I used Bare Minerals, Bobbi Brown concoction originally with Lush Dream Cream but it wasn’t giving us enough coverage and I knew we could get her looking even more flawless. In the end I used plenty of hyaluronic serum from Dr Sebagh, a mattifying moisturiser to calm down the oil in her face, Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops and RMS Beauty Magic Luminiser. Epic coverage and subtle glow. We finished her skin off with Bare Minerals Mineral Foundation mixed with Kryolan’s Loose Fixing powder.
Simona had plenty of hair to begin with but decided to add to the glamour she wanted plenty of extensions. Remember to mention this to your hair stylist as they may need extra time to style your hair from scratch! It took me around 2-3 hours to style Simona’s hair alone.
Simon’s absolute beauts bought the fun to her calm bridal demeanour. They’ve both known her a long time and were an absolute treat to be around the morning of the wedding. I gave them complimenting smokey eyes based on their likes and dislikes. We gave Renata a warm antique smokey eye; something reminiscent of the 30’s, using rich burnt coppers, dark golds and warm silvers. Sarah opted for a warm pink/ peach smokey eye with complimenting rose gold and warm silver tones.
Both ladies opted for up dos. We diffused and twisted Renata’s big curly hair for plenty of volume and texture without the back combing, Sarah decided to have a loose, laid back modern bun with a sixties twist.
Check out the joy! Also, I’m absolutely loving the volume shown in the girls’ up dos.
Every lady should have a wonderfully support girl squad in their life and on their wedding day.
Adding the finishing touches to Simona once her gown was on we realised how much her crystal embellished dress would fiddle with the structure of her hair. We were okay with it… I mean look at that gown!
Absolutely stunning portraits of Simona!
I mean, how beamingly happy is this Bride!?
Old school Hollywood glam, personified. Right there.
