Hey lovely lady,I don’t really know where to start with all the thanks!! From start to finish you were professional, personable, bubbly, comforting and skilled. It takes a lot to make me feel beautiful, but you smashed it! You managed to nail the look I was after effortlessly, I felt elegant but with a 60s kick!! Everything I wanted, soo thanks, and thanks again!! All my love, Lucy xxxxxxx
Oh my gosh, seriously, where do I start? Lucy and I met over a glass of fizz at Amuse Bouche in Parsons Green. She explained what she wanted for her perfect bridal hair and make up look, Brigitte Bardot and Jean Shrimpton being her wedding day style icons. We set about giving her a sculpted cut crease, very sixties in shape, with a strong flick and lots of lashes for her trial.
Lucy was adamant she wanted to go full on sixties so we chose an apricot nude lipstick, very appropriate for the era, with a subtle satin finish for optimal moisture. Very kissable but very on theme. During Lucy’s trial we fitted her veil to a booming beehive half up half down style, a gorgeous silk tulle with faux silk hydrangea attached. We added to this on the day with a full real hydrangea branch.
Lucy’s gorgeous Mumma opted for a facial massage to obliterate any tired, dry eyes, a subtle smokey eye with taupe and mink shades, lots of black mascara to make her eyes pop and restructuring and re building her eyebrows. I did this using mixed textures of Chantecaille eyebrow pencil, Bobbi Brown eyeshadow and varied shading techniques.
Check out that beehive! As it was such a damp day ( yes it may rain on your wedding day but a wet tied knot is a secure one for LIFE ), I had to re set Lucy’s hair into tighter waves post beehive do. We also used Mark Hill’s blow dry and anti humidity spray and L’Oreal and Schwarzkopf styling and hair sprays in varying strength to set. I made sure there was LOTS of stiff volume in the beehive as the weather was less than ideal and I also wanted to make sure the head dress and veil had something secure to be pinned to. Veils and headdresses can often have to sustain hugs, various amounts of love, weather and then be taken out properly.
How beautiful is this Bride!? More red head Brides please! I live for your freckles and shine!
Seriously, just the most gorgeous couple… They even look fit in torrential rain!
