"I will not retire while I’ve still got my legs and my make up box"

Mrs Emily Marshall

Emily and I first met in Soho, at The Urban Tea Rooms- if you’ve never been, GO! Olive tapenade, proper canapés and fizz. We discussed our love of the french countryside, leather biker jackets with wedding dresses and all things juxta-glam.   Emily’s maids were also being treated to Hair and Make Up. A rocky smokey eye and braids for Leah, and a rosy glow and up do for Caroline.   Check out Leah’s tattoos! And you guessed it, my favourite two are at the bottom. Always the couples. So much love.   All Hair and Make Up Artistry: Kylie McMichael Amazing photography and general lovely man to be around: Jonny Donovan Wedding venue: The George in Rye Wedding Dress: Ghost THAT bad ass leather jacket: All...

Mrs Royston- Green. A Preview

The wedding before mine was a riot! The funkiest, most beautiful Mother of the Bride in limited edition Prada, a Fur Coat No Knickers wedding dress, oh and dancing in the St Pancras Renaissance. A beautiful Jewish ceremony followed by a music concert and a food market. Amazing. Shot by Earthy Photography. Check it out...

Mrs Kellan Palmer- Stephens

Kellan and I bonded over fizz at our local in Hammersmith. We talked lots about weddings, both of ours impending. Kellan was sold on my love of turning fine, flat hair into voluminous beauties. I loved her venue choices and THAT DRESS! After briefly turning Kellan into Marie Antoinette we got to work on that sexy chignon. I also gave her beautiful Mumma a hand tousled blow dry and her maids wavy low ‘bitty’ buns.     Kellan knew she wanted something simple and pretty, make up wise, to complement the intricacy of her dress. I convinced her to rock the lashes as I think they add another level of glamour you don’t usually get to achieve in every day life. We finished off with a natural pink lip. Mrs Clare Lambert

Awww Clare! My Aussie delight! We had our meet up over icy cold Prosecco at The Riding House Cafe in London. It was a very sweaty day in London and we cooed over how cool it was in there! Clare talked me through the looks she wanted to try for the day for her and her sister. Neither wore a lot of make up or did much with their hair but a full on sixties do was the requirement.   I gave Clare a rolled beehive finished perfectly with her vintage inspired headpiece. Lashes and a peachy plumping lipgloss finished everything off. Clare’s sister loved her hair but found the fringe got in the way so a quick revision- sweeping it back into the half up remedied that and she was ready for some partying!   Clare’s beautiful Mumma opted for a...

Mrs Emma Thomas

I absolutely LOVED this family. I generally love all ladies I get to work with and their loved ones, but these guys? They were special. When Emma first sent me her emails, I imagined a quintessential English Rose. What I got was the funkiest  Asian fusion chicka with a name that came from her Mother’s love of English literature. This was SO much better! Emma wanted a funky updo- something that wouldn’t fall out after a dip in the lido pool (!) and a bronzed but natural look that would work well with her skin tone. We gave her hair some oomph with a Kylie Blow Dry and some tongs. Some subtle lashes gave Emma’s eyes a more awake and sensual look. We finished with a fuchsia lip to work with her BEAUTIFUL Christian Dior stilettos. Her wonderful...

So, I went and got married too!

One of the reasons I haven’t been around lately is because I went and got married myself! Here is a little taster, courtesy of that Laura McCluskey, again

Trending for House of Fraser’s Beauty Blog SS14

So a few weeks ago I was asked to trend for House of Fraser’s beauty blog… Not bad eh? It was a fabulous opportunity to showcase my forecasting skills and I hope to be able to do more for brands and houses in the future. Among the cat flick trend, I made two other predictions: A light shimmer wash on the eye, keeping the colours on the champagne/ mushroom/ peach side to brighten the complexion and refresh the eye. Enhancing the socket with a staple colour to complement. Slates, chocolate browns aswell as black. Wear through to AW14 by switching the champagne tones with coppers and dark silvers. Recreate this with Nars Isolde Eyeshadow Palette, emphasising with Clinique Stroke of Midnight. To keep the lid very shimmery layer with Nars’...
