PERFUMES I’M LOVING LATELY AND WHY THEY MIGHT BE PERFECT FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY.
I LOVE scent. I’ve discovered the past year that I’m VERY seasonal with it, I have a signature scent I guess but I do chop and change depending on the weather and season.
For example In Spring I tend to go with Violet, Rose, Jasmine and Geranium, in Summer months I go for heavier scents overlapped with Jasmine; Vanilla, Patchouli, Rose, Ouds and Sandalwood. In the lead up to the festive season I go for smokier based scents that remind me of roaring fires, Tobacco, Leather, Cedarwood and Ouds. After the festive season, in January I go for fresh, light scents with Iris and Lemon to blow the previous years intensities away.
Here’s a round up of the past year’s faves.
Le Galion, La Rose £200

I LOVE almost every scent that Le Galion does, I’ve been a die hard fan for over a decade when they launched in Liberty.
La Rose is fresh and uplifting but heavy, very distinctly rosey but not sickly. A super classy, mature fragrance. I love it and wear it from late Spring through Summer. I like to layer it with La Labos Santal33 when I want something a little heavier.

Oh my word this perfume is incredible. I’ve unisex, which I have a massive thing for with scents. It’s woody, heady and reminds me of Brighton which is where I found it last year on a lush family day out.
The website states “ Reminiscent of a charred historic amusement park; sprawling ornamental rose gardens, a heady fragrance of leather, tobacco and vetiver.” Which is the absolute vibe of this scent.
Major Boss scent.

I was given the Who is Elijah discovery set at a press event in Autumn of last year. I had literally no expectations other than I’d seen the brand out and about/ on socials.
Oh my word. So some have been given away but mostly the scents are gorgeous and LONG LASTING.
Wall Street is a major Boss scent. I feel super powerful when I wear it- I wore this in the autumn as it’s so leathery and woody. Rebel Rose is softer and more feminine but still a total Boss vibe. Saffron and pepper add bite.

I never intended on owning Argentina by Parisian perfume house Memo. My Mum, Sister, Avery and I were out scouting treats for my Dad’s surprise birthday party last year and had lunch at Harvey Nichols. My Mum and Sister could not forget this perfume so my Mum went back and purchased one as a surprise for my Sister’s own, upcoming birthday treat. Little did she know two had been packed accidentally. So I ended up with the other one and my Dad treated my Mum to one too.
Wearing it reminds me of that day and the people I was with. I wore it into the Summer and will start wearing it again this week.
It’s feminine with multiple layers of different rose and jasmine accents but it’s also exotic and peppery with sambac, magnolia and oud. It’s really warm to wear, perfect for summery weather.

Floral Street is one of those brands I’ve walked past 1000 times in John Lewis and other places and never batted an eyelid. I’m not sure why.
I attended a PR event last year and was given their Discovery Wardrobe and Oh, my. The thing I found I’ve loved about these sets is the ability to try every scent, give away the ones you don’t like/ aren’t your thing and continue your journey with your favourites.
I love most of them, especially after the festive season where I’ve wanted to try new fresh scents to wear.
I loved Black Lotus and Ylang Ylang Espresso so much I asked for them for Christmas. They’re seductive, smokey, spicy. Really perfect for me over the festive season.
